This would be a great experiment for a new horror movie. they could screen it in black and white and in color somewhere else and see which movie viewers thought was scarier.Buddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17142269413009487783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8237781251652279105.post-47223150165697327222010-01-28T00:32:05.417-05:002010-01-28T00:32:05.417-05:00Awesome post!Awesome post!Aleata Illusion(GoreGoreDancer)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02462705095177518044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8237781251652279105.post-13226891843096219492010-01-25T07:51:50.713-05:002010-01-25T07:51:50.713-05:00Great post Chris - and some truly provocative imag...Great post Chris - and some truly provocative images here. Those pics from Halloween and Evil Dead are particularly creepy - as are the stills from The Dark, The Others and Shrooms.

I just discovered recently that a special version of The Mist in black and white was released on DVD - would love to see THAT!James Graceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08968719719213071671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8237781251652279105.post-89185852238105194722010-01-24T17:36:57.129-05:002010-01-24T17:36:57.129-05:00Very cool idea, Christine. A good movie is a good movie, and a bad movie is a bad movie, why you'd rule it out based on no color is beyond me. Besides, as you say, there are many films that are enhanced by being black & white, and it's in no way a handicap. Many b & w flicks would be less enjoyable in color (just as Ted Turner about that).B-Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717121313061173603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8237781251652279105.post-22870378499739243652010-01-24T12:01:43.788-05:002010-01-24T12:01:43.788-05:00I think all haunted house movies should be blank a...I think all haunted house movies should be blank and white like The Haunting and with very little special effects because seeing the ghosts always seems to ruin the fear unless they are really done well.

I think the reason we don't see this a lot these days is because studios think it will drive away the teenage viewers. They forget though, even if it doesn't have a huge opening night, word of mouth will make it so a good movie will be seen time and time again.William Malmborghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04261043345510784469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8237781251652279105.post-65214295651919708852010-01-24T11:06:38.845-05:002010-01-24T11:06:38.845-05:00I totally think that noir-ish films would work bes...I totally think that noir-ish films would work best here.
